Hello,
If you’re new here, cheers!
Imagine your friend emails you thoughtfully every day,
Well, while rattling non-stop about AI.
I am as deep into this thing as some people are into anime and Nollywood memes.
Writing to keep every issue fresh and make this newsletter the fondest thing in your inbox (seriously)
And I really hope you like it.
AI has had everyone’s attention this year. It is probably the hottest, most-talked-about topic on the planet right now.
As hot as though your course mate just came to the lecture hall. In a Lamborghini.
Well, it’s some people’s jobs to keep track of what’s going on while we use ChatGPT to write our assignments.
I have looked through a number of reports, trends and statistics over the past few months.

Statista. Forbes Advisor. Accenture. World Economic Forum. And so on.
In today’s issue, we’ll discuss the 5 most wow-producing stats about AI so far.
If you think AI is as overhyped as what else it is you think is overhyped, maybe this list will make you think again.
Let’s talk numbers.

400M workers might be displaced.
Why do I have to begin the list with bad news?
First, because it’s the one of the most obvious.
There’s been so much talk of “AI taking all our jobs” that my ears may start to hurt.
McKinsey reported that between 2016 and 2030, about 15% of the workforce will feel AI’s virtual fist go smack on their faces.
I took a whole issue to preach that job displacement is historically normal and good. I also branded people who don’t agree with me, with Industrial Revolution-era labels like “neo-Luddite”.

AI will create 97M jobs
I don’t know why researchers seem excited with this number. It still beats me to understand how less than 100M jobs covers for 400M lost.
The World Economic Forum is the harbinger of this good news and they’re optimistic that this may help counter job displacement concerns.
Hurray.
More than 30% of firms hired software and data engineers in 2022 according to McKinsey.
The manufacturing industry is forecasted to be the biggest reaper of AI rewards. An Accenture report is predicting the sector will be drastically altered economically and will gain a tremendous $3.8 trillion by 2035.
So much AI f* dollars.
1/10 cars will be self-driving by 2030
Researcher guys are estimating that these non-fossil-fuel-burning roadsters will be a whopping 10% of the market. Up from 20M in 2021 to ~62M in 2030.
This stat makes me reason that I may have to change my dream car.
I won’t drive these petrol-guzzling things even if they have Italian names.
Aventador is out. Sorry.
It’ll be Revuelto or a luxury Tesla.
97% of business owners believe AI will help their business
Forbes Advisor says the vast majority of people see AI as becoming their business sidekick.
60%+ believes AI will be great for customer relationships. They believe using AI will also make them cooler to clients and be more productive.
What’s varied is how they intend to use AI. Some are rooting for creating websites, others content and so on.
AI market size to reach $407B
Did I save the best for last?
Uh-huh.
It was estimated that the market size for AI would be $86.9 billion in 2022. Now, it may break the $400 billion-dollar ceiling by 2027.
The predictions say AI will be 21% of the net increase to U.S. GDP by 2030.
Pretty optimistic predictions, right?
No Terminators and Decepticons.
We can heave a sigh of relief.
To sum it up,
And at the risk of sounding like a broken record,
AI is not a trend. It is not a fad.
The experts are warning us to brace up for a whole new world of change and opportunities.
The personal computer changed everything. The internet changed everything.
Now, everything has changed.
